About Lu
Lu Zhao BSc (Hons), Lic Ac, MBAcC.
Born and brought up in China, I have benefited from Traditional Chinese Medicine since I was a child. After living in the UK for 13 years, I decided to further my education to become an acupuncturist. I feel that I can help many others to benefit from this ancient healing tool.
I trained at the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine in Reading, where I learnt the Chinese medicine theory and an integrated style combining the two schools of acupuncture; Traditional Chinese Medicine and Five Element Acupuncture. I also incorporate Moxibustion, Tuina, Cupping, Gua Sha, breathing and body movement into my practice.
Since I was qualified in 2017, I have supported clients with a wide range of health conditions from physical injuries, joint pain, skin conditions to mental health issues, trauma and emotional pain. Through self healing and years of practice, I believe many of our health problems are caused by our emotions, childhood upbringing and trauma. My treatment focuses on identifying whether there is a link between the person's condition and their background. If there is, how can the person make the changes in their lifestyle, their old habits and their way of thinking. My purpose is to support the clients using acupuncture to heal from the inside out so that they can live their life to the full.
I am a fully insured member of the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC) and as such am bound by strict Codes of Safe Practice, Professional Conduct and Disciplinary Procedures. These Codes ensure that patients are offered the highest standards of professional care during their acupuncture treatment.
